Molly, a parent to four grown children, and grandmother to Maia, has been happily married for 40 years to David Philbin, a mining engineer and public servant. Ms. Philbin, with a degree in International Marketing and a minor in Spanish, has been working in alternative education for over 25 years. She developed award-winning curricula and programs for displaced homemakers, adult literacy students, English as a Second Language (ESL) students, and at-risk youth before joining the team at EarthBox. Her education, marriage and work engaged her in multi-cultural opportunities in multiple countries on several continents. Each engagement deepened her commitment to being a responsible steward of the earth, and an educator committed to developing projects and products that demonstrate the interconnectivity of all things, great and small, so that present and future generations can learn about, and practice responsible stewardship.

John, a Horticulturist and contributor to EarthBox Education guides and programs, began a second career in Horticulture, his long-time hobby and passion, while employed in the manufacturing field. Working his way from production to foreman, John lost an 18 year job due to competition overseas. With a degree in Specialized Technology, and continued education at Penn State University, John returned to school to earn yet another degree in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture. Today, as a Certified Professional Landscaper by PGMS, John continues to pursue horticultural classes and training while conducting experiments, maintaining the workplace garden, working at trade shows, and teaching customers and students about horticulture, plants, soil, light, nutrition, and the science of the EarthBox gardening system with the curricula and guides.
